3 Ways Women Can Relieve Stress

For many of us, current times has created some of the most significant challenges we have faced in our lives.  You may be feeling stress from one of the following aspects of life: financial, social, work, relationships, family, or even loneliness and isolation.

It’s good to have some handy practices available to help you better manage the stressors.

Here are three easy steps to help out:
  1. Journal Daily. Journaling is one of my favorite things to do that helps me clear my head and work through my emotions. I also use it to reflect and write out what I learned about the things that challenged me and where I could get better. Planning a better outlook provides that sense of assurance that I can handle what’s next.
  2. Positive Messaging. There is power in words. Create a weekly or daily routine of writing out an affirmation or gratitude list. Reflect on what you are thankful for, what positive ways you’ve grown, how you positively impacted someone’s life, what bought you joy, or what made you laugh. This positive messaging process catches on, and you will start to proactively look for more of the positives in your life rather than the negatives. 
  3. Prayer, Meditation, or Both. Spending quiet time in prayer or meditating helps you to center yourself. Prayer provides the opportunity to connect with God and garner strength, hope, and increase your faith. Mediation helps to sort out the distractions in your mind and sharpen your focus.

Take time to figure out your stress management routine. What I’ve found is the more I use any of the above methods consistently, the better equipped I am to manage my stressors each day.
